Important new Electoral Registration information available in January

Political parties in Britain are increasingly involved in encouraging their supporters to get on the electoral register, partly because thanks to population mobility having risen over the decades it is increasingly common for canvassers to find people on the doorsteps who are supporters but not (yet) on the register.

One key piece of information at the moment is whether or not someone who is on the register has moved over to individual registration or not. If they haven't, they risk dropping off the register in the future when the current transition arrangements get phased out and, more immediately, can't be a postal or proxy voter after 1st December in England or Wales (2nd March in Scotland).
