High Peak Liberal DemocratsBurns Night was marked in traditional style by local Liberal Democrats last Saturday who enjoyed a haggis supper, toasts of Scotch whisky and musical accompaniment from a piper in full traditional dress.
Local MP, Mark Hunter, was joined by his friend and colleague the Rt Hon Michael Moore, former Secretary of State for Scotland and the Member of Parliament for Berwickshire, Roxburgh and Selkirk, who made the Immortal memory speech to poet Robert Burns.
After the event, Mark said:
'A big thank you to Michael for travelling down from the Borders for our Burns Night Supper, and for sharing his amusing views on Robert Burns with us.
'The supper was great opportunity for the local Lib Dem supporters to get together and have a good time, while raising some money for the Party, and it was another sell-out event!'
