Cllr Phil Knowles pictured at Harborough Station in April 2014
''Harborough faces hundreds of homes being built over the coming years and no doubt additional businesses basing themselves in and around Harborough. We have campaigned for significant and targeted investment into the Midland Mainline so we are delighted to see the funding delivered, funding that will see improved journey times to and from London and will also include upgrading of the disabled access at the station. We also see the potential for electrification as an opportunity to reduce running costs and to improve energy use and carbon emissions.
"We took this campaign directly to the Transport Minister Baroness Kramer and hope that it won't be too far in the future that we can welcome her to Market Harborough to see the finished scheme''
