High Peak Liberal Democrats8th Cheadle Hulme Guides have held a tea party for local elderly residents on Sunday 8th February, and local MP for Cheadle constituency, Mark Hunter, was pleased to attend as special guest.
The members of the Guide group planned, prepared and hosted the event for their local community, serving refreshments including home-made cupcakes.
Commenting after the event, Mark Hunter said:
'A huge thank you and well done to the girls of 8th Cheadle Hulme who were a credit to the Girl Guides this afternoon. Clearly a lot of thought and preparation had gone into the event and every guest I spoke to was having a great time, and spoke of how polite and welcoming their hosts had been.'
Leader of 8th Cheadle Hulme Guides, Clare Russell, added:
'Thanks to Mark for taking the time to spend the afternoon with us. The Guides had a great afternoon; baking the cakes, decorating the tables, and then serving the local residents. The guests were full of praise for the girls and it is something that we will be looking to organise again soon.'
