High Peak Liberal DemocratsOur full Manifesto for Bassetlaw is available on line where these policies are explained further.
Leon Duveen, the Lib Dem Parliamentary candidate for Bassetlaw, who is also standing in the Blyth Ward, said, "It is noticeable that those areas in Nottinghamshire and across the East Midlands where there is a strong Liberal Democrat party either in power or able to hold another party to account, have a far better local council than those where one party or another faces little or no effective opposition.
"For too long, we in Bassetlaw have suffered from an inept Labour Council and a weak, ineffective Tory opposition. Only the Lib Dems, with a growing local party and backed by our unrivalled national network of successful Councillors, have the vision and ability to revive the District and rebuild our local economy.
"We aim to make sure that the new Council, will focus on the work needed here in Bassetlaw instead of indulging in party political squabbling. We will stand up for the residents of the District and not for the interests of the Unions or big business."
This year we are standing candidates in the Blyth, East Retford West, Everton, Ranskill, Sutton & Welbek Wards. For more details on the candidates see their pen portraits at Candidates 2015.
