For the first time in two decades, the Tories have caved in and not even nominated enough candidates to win a majority on Southwell Council.
Liberal Democrats have run services in the town for over twenty years - successfully delivering 2 hours free car parking to encourage visitors into the town, buying the town's Police Station - leasing it to Notts Police keeping the Police base in the town.
Providing attractive parks and recreation spaces in and around the town, including purchasing open spaces leading right into the centre of this attrractive cathedral town in the centre of Nottinghamshire.
Southwell Council will now have 8 Lib Dem councillors, at least one Independent and a maximum of six Conservatives [the nomination papers have still not been published by Conservative controlled Newark and Sherwood Distrcit Council - so full information is still not available!].
