The UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities calls on governments to raise awareness of and respect for the rights of people with disabilities, and to combat stereotypes, prejudices and harmful practices. This event presents the findings from a scoping review into attitudes towards people with intellectual disabilities around the globe, and efforts to improve them. Positive efforts to raise awareness and foster acceptance and equality from the UK and from around the world will be presented.
