High Peak Liberal DemocratsLittle more than months away and the East Midlands Regional Executive have taken steps to ensure the Region is well positioned for what is being described as a 'vitally important campaign that simply must be won'
Vice Chair Cllr Phil Knowles has been appointed as Regions Coordinator for the Referendum by the East Midlands Regional Executive and is expected to contact all members across the Region as the support team/campaign structure is put into place.
''Time is very short; we literally have the matter of months to take this campaign onto the streets, to every home and every business and ensure that we keep the UK at the heart of Europe.
"Yes it will be challenging but I am confident that the Liberal Democrats are best placed to lead this campaign.
"I will be in Brussels in October for meetings about the National Campaign and to explore just how we here in the East Midlands can include this locally.
"Then of course we will have the pleasure of welcoming Catherine Bearder MEP here to the East Midlands in November.
"By the time these two important events take place I hope that we will already be actively campaigning across the Region and taking every opportunity to highlight the importance to every household of the UK staying in the EU'"
Phil continued "I already have the names of a number of members of the Team, details of which I will publish shortly. I am very hopeful that more members will come forward to offer their help and input. This is a campaign that we simply must win."
