High Peak Liberal DemocratsEvery day between now and then, we'll be previewing the debates, the fringe, the training and telling you everything you could possibly want to know about the event.
As it's the weekend, we'll keep today's preview lighthearted. Many of you will be delighted to see that the #libdemdisco is back. Last year, the event, run by Cambridge Liberal Democrats, was a huge hit. I was lucky enough to be one of the DJs, competing against Tim Farron, Alistair Carmichael and Don Foster. I was pretty surprised to come second in that illustrious field to Alistair Carmichael. Now it's time to dust off the glitter balls for this year's event.
So said the email from one of last year's organisers. I was determined that as we were in Glasgow, we should do something Scottish. And it went remarkably well.
I also did some proper disco stuff, like We are Family and Can't get you out of my head by Kylie.
Carmichael charmed the crowds with Dolly Parton and, as he said, respected the Sabbath with YMCA.
This year it's bigger and better with five guest DJs. Carmichael is back to defend his title, but they also have Gerald Vernon-Jackson, Caroline Pidgeon, Jo Swinson and, wait for it, Paddy.
I have stupidly bought 4 tickets at the cheaper pre-conference price when I only meant to buy two, so am happy to sell them on at £7.50 each. Just email me on caron@libdemvoice.org. /* */
You can also buy tickets and find out more information here. It is guaranteed to be fantastic fun. Do not miss it.
