Questions are being raised about the latest revelations at the much delayed 'New Harborough Hospital' site at St Lukes.Cllr Phil Knowles, who has been at the head of the campaign for a 'New Hospital' for over 28 years says that the latest information begs answers to yet more questions. Questions that he intends to raise with the CEO of NHS England, Simon Stevens, and he hopes that the Secretary of State Jeremy Hunt will also take an interest.
'' I have been shown documents by HFM Radio which indicates it's not possible to deal with the weeds and overgrown grass on the St Lukes site because of the possible presence of rubble/asbestos which would need to be dealt with by specialists
"If confirmed, this revelation opens up a raft of questions and concerns. Is the NHS speaking with specialists? How long will the clean up take and at what cost? Is the site safe should members of the public stray onto it? Is this whole matter going to result in yet more and unacceptable delays. I think the time has come for the NHS to tell us just what on earth is going on!'' - Cllr Phil Knowles
