High Peak Liberal DemocratsThe East Midlands played host to the Lib Dems Top European, Catherine Bearder MEP, and the visit has been hailed a 'Great Success'.
Arriving in South Leicestershire Catherine Bearder held talks with Regional Vice Chair, Cllr Phil Knowles to look in detail at the EU Referendum Campaign and the forward plans. Ms Bearder then took the opportunity to visit an Innovation Centre in Market Harborough where she toured the facility which has been supported by European Funds, heard from managers on the site and had a meeting with some of the entrepreneurs who are housed in the building.

Next stop, Oadby & Wigston, where she toured a new swimming pool facility with Councillors from the Lib Dem Controlled Borough Council. The swimming pool is a new facility which is part of a £10 million plus package of investments by the local authority.
During the evening Catherine Bearder moved on to Leicester where she met with members and was the special guest at the dinner event.
'Speaking at the dinner Catherine Bearder expressed her delight at being in the East Midlands and at having the opportunity to share ideas and opinions as the EU Referendum gets ever closer. Catherine made sure that she spoke with every guest at the dinner. It was a very enjoyable visit and I know that Catherine will be back here in the East Midlands very soon'' - Cllr Phil Knowles
