RECYCLING RATES - HOW DOES YOUR COUNCIL PERFORM?

How does your local council rank for recycling nationally and regionally?
A useful set of maps and tables comparing recycling rates (for 2013-14) across the UK are available on the website of SITA UK, the recycling and waste management company.

The site has an interactive map which allows you to enter a postcode and view performance data for that borough.

There are also sets of league tables which show several local authorities in the bottom half of the table. Erewash for example has a recycling rate of 39.4% and is 208th out of 326. Not a great performance! How does your council rate?

Of particular interest to East Midlands Lib Dems is a map of the Central region

A glance at the map shows that region as a whole has a long way to go with whole swathes of the region well below 50% recycling rates.
