Responding to reports that 2015 was the hottest year since records began Lynne Featherstone, Liberal Democrat Environment Spokesperson, said:
"This frightening data has to be a wakeup call to the Tories as they relentlessly move ahead with cuts to the green sector whilst crying crocodile tears.
"This warning proves that the state of the environment is far too serious for us to sit on our hands.
"In the Coalition we fought our corner to make sure green issues were at the top of the agenda. The Tories now trample over everything as Cameron's mask slips and he carries out his desire to cut the 'green crap.'"
