Brexit - yes, we are embarking on a journey where the only known point is the point of departure. The destination is undefined, the aim is unspecified, even the direction of travel is unknown....And whilst Theresa May may be a safe pair of hands I am not sure if safe pair of hands is what is needed. She might be the best in 'mastering her brief' ... if there was a brief to master.
A mess that what it is - Blindxit.
I do not think we will have a snap election now even though we are putting candidates left right and centre (metaphorically and politically speaking) to hope to capture some of the 48%-ers. I agree we should be shouting now 'What Brexit do we want?' and offer some options rather than banging about 'the return to Europe'
My preferred route would be the 'Greek solution':
Step 1: General Election in Greece to reject austerity. (in the UK it is the referendum)
Step 2: negotiating the relaxation of the austerity package (UK: what options are there for Brexit?)
Step 3: Greek Referendum: no Euro and no austerity or keep Euro and keep austerity - austerity now renamed to 'prudent economy'. (UK: do you want to stay in Common Market even if we have to accept EU immigrants or do you want to leave the EU market and keep immigrants out).
Step 4: The Greeks voted against the return of Drachma. The cost would be too high. (UK: ?????? - not there yet)
What do you think?
