A damp squib.

Lynne FeatherstoneLast week, to much fanfare, the Government unveiled their "Clean Growth Strategy".

Unfortunately, despite being nearly a year late, it's a damp squib.

Too little support for home insulation, electric vehicles, carbon capture, tree planting and many, many more essential measures and absolutely no support for tidal energy or onshore wind power.

The goals they've set today don't even meet our obligations under the Paris Agreement.

It's just not good enough. We know how important the fight to tackle climate change is - and by rolling out such a lacklustre plan, the Government is showing, yet again, that they just aren't serious about that fight.

The good news is, if the Government does want to do a better job at fighting climate change, we've made it really easy for them. Last month, we unveiled a report on how Britain can get serious about fighting climate change. We've included a link to it in the tweet and you can read it here: libdems.org.uk/climatereport

Now, we know this Government aren't big fans of experts, but hopefully, with your pressure and ours, we can persuade them to get serious about tackling climate change.
