High Peak Liberal DemocratsMembers and their guests are invited to a social evening at Sir Barnes Wallis at Ripley on Thursday March 8th at 7.30pm. Our guest will be William Davison, who will be speaking on the topic of Land Value Tax.
William Davison will talk about Land Value Tax, a topic that has been central to Liberal thinking since the time of Lloyd George. Land Value Tax would provide the community with a share of the huge financial gains that can be made by simply owning land. It is especially relevant at a time when young people struggle to afford a home, and when wealth is so unfairly shared.
Please note:
* We have changed the pub and we will not be providing food with this event. The cost is £2, to cover costs and contribute to local party funds.
* William will start at 7.30 pm prompt, with questions and discussion until 9pm, at which point the meeting will close, though no doubt some will move into the bar.
The Sir Barnes Wallis pub is in the streets behind the Leisure Centre and close to Ripley Hospital. It is on Maple Avenue, postcode DE5 3PY
