High Peak Liberal DemocratsCONGRATULATIONS New Councillors!
Well done to those of you who have made the breakthrough. Some of you may have been councillors already and regained a seat, but some of you will be first time councillors and we have designed something especially for you to make your mark on Environmental issues. We have a training event on introducing GREEN issues into your locality. It is part of our 30th Birthday Bash for the Green Liberal Democrats which was formed in Nottingham back in 1988 when the Liberal Party merged with the SDP to form the Liberal Democrats.
The 2018 Green Liberal Democrat Conference will also be held in Nottingham - on 19th May (just a couple of weeks away) so you do have time to organise your registration. The training session is the first item on the agenda at 10am, so you may need to stay in Nottingham overnight on Friday night - you can book a hotel through Booking.com and get a £15 reward too (Here`s the information about hotel bookings - https://greenlibdems.org.uk/en/article/2018/1261823/booking-your-accommodation-for-the-green-lib-dem-conference-in-may - including the booking reference you will need to save money)
Simon Hughes is formally opening the conference at 11am and we have Sir Ed Davey MP, Wera Hobhouse MP and Sir Vince Cable MP on the speakers list as well as many GREEN experts both from outside and inside the party. This could be just the thing you need to get your first months as a new Councillor gaining a lot of good local publicity as well as improving the environmental performance of your local authority.
The session will be led by two excellent environmental campaigners who have championed GREEN issues in their own local authorities. It will be Chaired by Louise Harris, who has won awards for her green campaigning and Councillor Jane Brophy, one of the Party`s leading Green campaigners, will be bringing her experience to the table.
If you have not got your invitation to Windsor Castle or you have not bought tickets for the FA Cup Final - get yourselves up to Nottingham and have a great day with the Green Liberal Democrats - so BOOK HERE>>> https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/gld-2018-conference-tickets-43271323694
I look forward to seeing you at the Jubilee Campus of Nottingham University - it will be a great day
