High Peak Liberal Democrats
I was delighted to have the opportunity to talk to Ian Skye of Radio Derby on Wednesday morning last week
Daytime on BBC Radio Derby - 14/04/2021 - BBC Sounds
Starts 1hour 13minutes in
Ian asked me for my views on police stations which I am told, in many cases are not fit for purpose and I told him that I will be visiting Buxton Police Station next week to find out for myself.
Also he asked about my views on police visibility and my aim to increase police visibility in both urban and rural areas achieved through more funding, more focused use of existing funds, and additional funds, for example reducing the stipend of police and crime commissioners!
We discussed my wish to have a police force in Derbyshire in which the police are visible, accessible, responsive and compassionate. I want everyone to see their police as their friend who is there to help in times of need. If elected as the PCC for Derbyshire and if I succeed in that aim, that will be my legacy.
