It is with regret we report that Geoff Strudwick, a long serving Liberal Democrat member from Buxton, has died peacefully at the age of 89.
Both Geoff and his wife, Ann, who pre-deceased him by a couple of years, were originally members of the Liberal party and so became founder members of the Liberal Democrats. Geoff remained active until recently, delivering leaflets in last year's elections and signed nomination papers this year.
For visitors to the Buxton Opera House Geoff was also a familiar welcoming figure as a volunteer, where he also had a supervisory role.
The funeral is to take place in the afternoon of Tuesday, 24th August at Macclesfield crematorium.
