Our Road to Success

We have seen the Conservative Government fail over and over again. Indifference and inaction in Westminster has caused the deaths of over 150,000 people from Covid, and counting.

Even senior members of the Government did not follow the lockdown and social distancing rules. It is clear they see it as one rule for them, and another for the rest of us.

This is not the way to run a government. We owe it to our country to present a better, Liberal alternative. With this in mind, here is a summary of our strategy for success.

As Liberal Democrats we are founded on the principles of a free and fair society where every individual has control of their own lives.

Election Winning

• Secure the election of as many Lib Dem MPs to Westminster as possible.
• Support party organisations in England, Scotland and Wales for success in local and regional elections.

Campaign Management

• Communicate our vision for a fairer, greener and more caring country.
• Further Develop an outstanding network of campaigns staff across the country
• Invest in information technology and data to become more evidence led when we fight in elections.
• Provide extensive training and tools, especially for local parties and recognising the central importance of candidates to successful campaign teams.

Improve Party Experience

• We want to make sure our members get the most out of being Lib Dems. We will give members more opportunities to promote their own political priorities.
• Encourage party participation from under-represented groups, with a special prio[rity given to ethnic minority diversity as both the Alderdice and Thornhill reviews have told us we need to do.
• We will give members more options to stand for roles in public bodies and within the part.

We were thrilled to confirm our strategy for even more success in the future, especially off the back of the Chesham and Amersham by-election!
