Margaret was born, bred and has lived in the High Peak for all her life. A Chartered Certified Accountant, she has been involved in various roles withinthe Lib Dems, formerly the Liberal Party, since 1972. She did her accountancy training with Ferodo, followed by two years as a Computer Development Accountant, and eventually found her niche in teaching. Initially teaching evening classes she moved on to part-time teaching roles at High Peak College and Macclesfield College, a full-time role at Stockport College, and finally she completed her career as Senior Lecturer in Accounting and Taxation at the University of Derby. She has been treasurer of many local organisations over the years.
