Winning in 2021! Derbyshire Lib Dems AGM and County Election training

January 18, 2020 10:00 AM
Derby Lib Dem Office, 24A Great Northern Road, Derby, DE1 1LR

The postponed AGM for the Derbyshire Lib Dems Coordinating Group will be held this Saturday, 18th January, at the Derby Lib Dem Office, 24A Great Northern Road, Derby, DE1 1LR starting at 10am.

All members are welcome to attend. It will be followed by training for the County Council elections in 2021.

The agenda is:

  1. Apologies

  2. Minutes of Previous AGM & Matters Arising (Please Click Here to download the minutes)

  3. Opening of Nominations for Officer Elections (Chair, Treasurer, Secretary - please get in touch if you'd like to volunteer for any of these posts, especially Chair or Secretary)

  4. Annual Reports - Chair, Treasurer, Fire Authority, Police

  5. Motions (Please submit before the meeting starts)

  6. Review of General Election

  7. Close of Nominations for Officers/Election of new officers

  8. Police & Crime Commissioner Elections

  9. County Council Election Planning & Standard Approval & Selection Procedures overview

  10. AOB

Afterwards, Paul Holmes will be leading a session on planning for the County Council elections in May 2021. All 64 seats will be up for election. We currently hold three, so there is great scope for improvement, for example if each local party targeted and won just one (or one more) County division we'd then have eleven councillors, which would be the highest in modern times! If we start now this could be achievable.

Come to learn what local parties could be doing, with the example of how Chesterfield have already begun their campaigning.

We'll be starting about 1pm, after the Derbyshire meeting and a bite to eat (do bring something with you, tea/coffee available) and be finished by 3pm latest.

I look forward to seeing you.

Lucy Care, Secretary
