Get yourself out to vote, get your family out to vote, get your friends out to vote, GET OUT TO VOTE!

Today is Polling Day in the European Referendum.

Today the United Kingdom gets to decide what sort of country it wants to be. These big ideas are more important I believe than the minutiae. There are a great many people I admire on the Leave side of the campaign but a great deal many more on the side of Remain. For me voting Remain is about saying you want the UK to be an open, engaged and compassionate member of the world. A country who wants to work together with the world to solve the huge problems that we ALL face. A country that sees the suffering of others and responds with a desire and action to help those who are suffering.

I know there are people on the Leave side who would agree with me on all those things, and claim that we could still be that country outside of the EU and they might be right. But for most of the people leading the Out campaign the things I want our country to be are not the things they want, AT ALL.

That's why I'm voting REMAIN.

I think there is another reason that we should all do our upmost to ensure that come Friday morning the United Kingdon is IN.

A lady called Shirley Holt is the reason I joined the Liberal Democrats and she passionately wants the United Kingdom to stay IN the EU. When I was unsure whether I should join she was the one that persuaded me. When I've needed help, she has helped me.

Tomorrow Shirley Holt is 81 years old, tomorrow let us help her. Tomorrow let us make sure that when she wakes up on her birthday that we have given her the only birthday present she really wants, tomorrow let us make sure we are IN.
