Lib Dem Police and Crime Commissioner Candidate for Derbyshire
The Liberal Democrat candidate for the role of Police and Crime Commissioner for Derbyshire is Stan Heptinstall.
Stan served the whole of his working life as a senior academic in the Medical School at the University of Nottingham and is now an Emeritus Professor of the same university.
Alongside his professional career he has always had a huge interest in his local community. He served for many years as a local councillor, attaining the position of Mayor.
He was acclaimed for his representational role through the award of an MBE by the Queen and his appointment as an Honorary Alderman by those who appreciated his long service to local government.
Stan describes himself as a "people person" and has always worked hard for others and especially those in any difficulty. He is an advocate of "doing the right thing" for those in any kind of need and is looking forward to using his "doing the right thing" as the PCC for our area.
His focus will be on ensuring policing and all associated areas are completely fit for purpose, with all those involved working collaboratively in the best interests of law and order. He tells us that the victims of crime will always be a central focus of attention.
At a family level, Stan is happily married to Lillian and they have four grown-up children and 10 grandchildren.
Stan is very much looking forward to working with you and for you in his new role.
